Big Nuz and DJ Tira come together for Charity

Big Nuz the famous African band along with DJ Tira got huge crowds to swing to their tunes at Windhoek on May 21, 2010. Together they put up a fantastic show for a noble cause. The fundsraised during the event were forwarded to Dolam, Eros and Shandumbala Children’s Homes and the Afterschool Orphanage.

The popular band won a lot of accolades and recognition this year for their latest album and the song umlilo. All the members of the band Mandla Maphumulo, Sbusiso Khomo and Mzingisi Mkhwananzi grooved in high energy during the show. They also invited young bands to join them on stage and support the cause. The group along with DJ Tira rocked the entire night with known and unknown bands. The crowd was thrilled to see numerous music makers in a night at one stage.

FLIP project includes participation of local students to provide nonprofit fundraising ideas for charity to create community awareness in Gibraltar amongst the teenagers.

Big Nuz planned to donate 300 blankets to charities with the money raised and fortunately the amount collected was far more than that. The band felt proud of the fact that they helped raise money for a good cause. Their idea was to bring people together, entertain them and be able to raise some money for the needy. They think society is filled with wealthy and poor people and it is the duty of the rich ones to donate for the betterment of the poor. They proved that the rockers and music lovers too have a heart to donate which was visible by the number of people who attended the concert.
